Received his undergraduate degree at the United States Military Academy and his medical degree at Emory University. He went on to complete his surgical training at Eisenhower Army Medical Center and spent the next four years in the Army as a staff surgeon at Fort Benning Georgia. He joined the group in September of 2003. Dr. Blaney is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is an active member and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also an active member and fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). He is the medical director of the Trinity Bariatric and Weight loss Center. He has special interests in advanced laparoscopy, endoscopy, bariatric surgery, reflux disease and foregut disease.
Received his undergraduate and medical degree in Ecuador at the Catholic University. He came to the United States and completed his surgical training at East Tennessee State University and then performed a fellowship in Bariatric Surgery at the University of Miami. After graduation in 2012 he moved to Augusta GA to join the team of bariatric professionals at Live Healthy MD. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery, and is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the Society of American Gatrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. He has particular interests in advanced laparoscopy, bariatric surgery, endoscopy and reflux disease.
Received his undergraduate degree at the United States Military Academy and served as a Field Artillery Officer and paratrooper until attending medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina. He then completed a residency in Family Practice in 1996 followed by a Masters of Public Health Degree and Preventive Medicine Residency. He is an active member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and has special interest in the management of chronic medical problems (diabetes, hypertension, elevated cholesterol) though weight loss, exercise and smoking cessation. Dr. Boland is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Society of Bariatric Physicians.
Dr. Mary Lu Thompson received her medical degree from the University of Virginia. She completed her internal medicine residency form the University of Alabama Birmingham and her endocrinology and diabetic fellowship from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She is board certified in internal medicine, endocrinology and obesity medicine. She has practiced internal medicine and endocrinology in Augusta Ga and joined Live Healthy MD in 2014. She is a specialist in medical weight loss, in addition brings an added dimension of endocrinology to our team.
