Amy Solen

I am so thankful for Dr. Chasen and his staff. He gave me my life back. I was diagnosed with Pseudotumor Cerebri (PTC) in 2010 which is essentially a “fake” brain tumor caused by being overweight. My body thought I had a brain tumor because of my weight. My prognosis was grim unless I lost a lot of weight and fast. The only other option was to have shunts put in my brain to relieve the pressure on my brain. I met with Dr. Chasen and he suggested the Duodenal Switch. A month after my initial appointment I was having surgery to lose the weight. My starting weight was 322lbs and my current weight is 175lbs. I have lost a total of 145lbs and still counting. I went from a size 26 pants to a size 14 pants and a large shirt. I am happy to say that my pseudotumor is gone. And it is all because of the great doctors I had. Dr. Blaney, Dr. Chasen and Dr. Glass are a God send. They gave me back my life. I now can run and play with my children and live a “normal” life as a new smaller version of me. I couldn’t be happier. Thank you Dr. Chasen and staff. You saved my life and saved me from brain surgery to correct the PTC.
